There are a lot of differences between these two music videos. I have chosen to research the difference between these two genres because they often are mistaken for each other and I want to make sure that my music video fits the conventions of Pop as that was our chosen genre. However, the costume in the pop video is very bright and creative and has lots of different colours and styles to support the up beat tempo of the song.
Lighting — lighting differs a lot in these two videos as the Rihanna video has low level lighting with the performer in the spot light and you cannot see very much of a back ground but the Katy Perry video has very high level lighting and high contrast to make it brighter and there is a lot going on in the back ground supporting the happy beat of the song.
